Climbing Near Nuevo Copaltepec, México

This is the huge cave accessed at Rancho Procopio just 15 minutes from Taxco, Guerrero, MX. Routes are almost all overhanging and long. Huge tufas and 3D climbing. From Taxco drive to Grutas de Cacahuamilpa and turn left into Sr. Procopio's Rancho (unmarked) and park safely here. The trail is maintained by his family and a slight fee is charged; well worth it. You can also rent burros to carry your gear!

Routes start at the back of the cave with the longest and most well-known route, Mala Fama. Routes from left to right are: El Jaguar - 5.13a La Gran Tufa/Jaguar Variation - 5.13b La Gran Tufa - 5.13a La Onza - 5.12c Mantis - 5.12b Mala Fama - 5.12a (first pitch) Walk to the back of the cave on the left side.

Huge limestone cave with steep overhanging walls full of tufas. Always shady, warm ups start at 11s. Near Taxco in state of Guerrero, Mexico. From the farmhouse, walk a path for 30-45 min to the cave.
