International : North America : Cayman Brac
Cayman Brac RoutesJohn Byrnes Gunks Apps 2018Beautiful sport climbing in a Caribbean paradise. Cayman Brac is one of three Cayman Islands, and the only one with rock climbing (Brac is gaelic for cliff). There are now a total of 131 titanium routes on the island from 5.6 to 5.13, with the bulk being tens, elevens, and twelves. There are several open projects in the 5.13 range. The rock is mostly clean pocketed limestone but Spot Bay is also rich in stalactites and tufas. There is climbing on the North, South, and East, so you can always find sun or shade. On rest days you can explore the various caves, SCUBA, snorkel, or just relax on the beach. This guide has complete GPS maps and base photos for every route. |

Rock N RoadTim Toula, Falcon PublishingRock N Road: An Atlas of North American Climbing Areas, is a comprehensive listing of every chunk of protruding stone on the continent. This is not a typical guidebook: there are no topos or route descriptions and only a few photos. Instead, the atlas provides a paragraph or two on each destination, with quality ratings, stats on number of climbs, and a list of the best routes. This is an essential reference item for those in search of new or less-documented crags. |
