Cheyenne Mountain Rock Climbing

Convenience is the name of the game here! This urban mountain boasts some of the shortest drives and approaches. The mountain is relatively low elevation and close to town, making most of the crags here best in the winter or early spring/fall, though nearly year-round climbing is possible with flexible timing and a tolerance for heat. The rock is all limestone, generally sharp and of mediocre quality that cleans up pretty well with traffic.

Though the area has been primarily known for the quintessential, post-rain Red Rock alternative of The Gun Club, some more obscure crags have existed for a while, and a number of new offerings have been developed more recently.
