Description

A crag for those operating in the higher grades. The large South face of the Belvedere is a great option for climbers looking for similar climbing to the Brevent South face but in a more remote setting. the routes feature steep face climbing and all the lines are fully bolted requiring only quickdraws and double 50m ropes to descend. The routes are southeast facing and get a lot of sun until at least 3pm and they dry quickly after rain. There is often snow at the base of the wall well into th summer so traction can be advisable for the last few hundred meters.

Getting There

From the top of the Index chairlift hike East to Lac Blanc. From the lake follow the path on the West side of the lake and continue up the huge gulley directly from the lake to the base of the wall. Alternatively there is a trail going up through the ledges on the West side of the lake through all of the terraces which deposits you a bit higher than the wall allowing you to traverse in from the left although this is a longer option.
