Description
This area encompasses all the ice and mixed climbing in the Juneau area.
The ice climbing in Juneau is almost as temperamental as the rain forest that surrounds it. Some winters it feels like there are 2 or 3 mini ice seasons for those that are able to make use of the sporadic schedule that winter provides. The most consistent ice would be Little Nugget falls near the Mendenhall Glacier visitor center and Knucklebuster on Blackerby Ridge. When cold conditions take hold, the South Facing mountains on Mt. Juneau behind downtown offer 1000+ ice lines a short walk from the bar.
