Cabeça Imperador

International > S America > Brazil > Rio de Janeiro > Pedra da Gávea

Description

The home of one of the top 50 classic climbs in Brazil, Passagem Dos Olhos, this area also has some very hard face climbing to be had.

Getting There

Approach as for Barrinha, but stay on the Pedra da Gávea trail almost all the way to the top. Depending on the route you intend to climb, either turn left just before the ~100ft 5th class scramble high on the trail or just after.

The approach will take between an hour and an hour and a half with climbing gear

The view from the incredible rest at the end of P4. I put on my approach shoes here and appreciated it, no need for climbing shoes on the cable pitch
