Description Suggest change

The Cordillera Vilcabamba is a high mountain range northwest of Cusco marked by deep gorges which descend towards the Amazon basin. The range is home to Salkantay 6271m, as well as numerous other prominent glaciated 5000m peaks. Few peaks can be climbed in a day, many require multi-day approaches.

Getting There Suggest change

Soraypampa, Colcapampa, and Yanama are popular starting points for many climbs in the range. Little infrastructure exists for the more remote western reaches of the Vilcabamba.
