Description
Currently the “ highest” Boulder in the group, it is also the first to have had routes posted for it.
One of the most proficient boulderers in NH speaks of the climbs on this boulder: " It’s only the single best piece of stone we have in the valley."
of Diesel Daddy - "In my opinion this climb is one of the best harder climbs in the valley. No tweaky holds, incredible rock, and hard climbing.10/10 would recommend! "
Getting There
This is the highest of the Diesel Group boulders. Follow “ Getting There” for the group, then See sketch map - From the base of the East face of the “ 4 Cracks” boulder, hike up and left at about 45-degree angle for 100 +/- feet passing “ Greenie” boulder and enter a wide, shallow gully. ( in 2024 there’s a 7 ft high, broken tree stump near where you join this gully) Climb straight up for about 50 -75+/- ft looking right for an archway formed by a tree over two boulders [photo]. ( cairn, 2024, not shown on photo) Go through the archway, through the short corridor and Diesel Bldr will be immediately on your left. Make one step down and two steps left and you’re there !
The original approach was up the now fallen tree-choked gully going up past “ Big Boy” bldr. (photo)
