Description
Bear Creek Cañon Park is a quaint park that encompasses the canyon where Bear Creek meets the Front Range mountains west of Colorado Springs. It abuts and is south of Red Rock Canyon Open Space and the canyon to the north of North Cheyenne Canon. It is a popular hiking destination, and recently mountain biking trails are being created and improved.
Its main climbing areas are the Dakota Hogsback and the nearby Pigtail wall to its south. Sentinel and Grand Specimen Rocks can be easily seen north of the main road/trail at the bottom of Bear Creek Canon. However, these two formations are on Pike's National Forest land and are therefore not included in this area.
