Description

While there is not a large concentration of boulders on this stretch of the Gunpowder, there are some great problems dispersed around the area. The rock is schist of varying quality, as is common to northern Baltimore county.

Getting There

Take highway 83 or York Road towards Hereford. Park at Hillbilly Beach (39.61403° N, 76.65918° W) and follow the trails downstream. Some problems are on the northern side of the river, and some are on the southern. There are a few fallen trees that can be used to cross over as of March 2024.
