Warning Access Issue: Potential road closures in winter. DetailsDrop down

Description Suggest change

A great early season climbing location, while the road is open. Plenty of beginner and moderate climbs. During early season or thin conditions these climbs can be harder than WI2-WI3.

Getting There Suggest change

Take the East Fork Trail past the wooden bridge and continue on to some switchbacks, 0.25 miles after the large switchbacks when the trail straightens go right from the trail down to the creek. Cross the creek and head up the hill. The climb Sixteen Lanterns can be seen from the East Fork trail, Jollywood wall is to the left. There is usually a heavily trafficked trail coming off of the main East Fork Trail, unless there has been a recent snow. When the road is open these climbs are easily accessed by walking. When the road closes skis or snowshoes can be helpful.
