Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

Midway along the south face of Snickers is a box canyon that's home to such routes as Funny Money (5.8+), Henny Penny (5.10d), When You're A Jet (5.11c), Iron Maiden (5.11d) and When You're Erect (5.12a).

This can be a good place to escape the wind on those all too common blustery days.

Getting There

Approach as for Little Rock Candy Mountain but continue east on a trail for another 100 meters or so until you come to the box canyon routes and then make a left (heading north); some scrambling is needed to access these routes.
