Description
Another great addition to the Lower Arrow Lakes crags! Named for the unreal amount of rock chips that were chipped away to unveil the cool formations beneath. Both sport & mixed climbs of good quality. Ranges from 5.8/9-11d/12a. Some sprinklings of sun and some shade with both east & south facing aspects and a few trees. Must do climbs: Finger Locking Good, Salt & Pepper, Honey Dijon, Chocolate Chips.
Getting There
Drive out west on Broadwater road heading towards Syringa. Hit your odometer when you hit Rialto Forest Service Rd (Borrow Pit Rd). The faint pullout for Chips Crag will be on your left .5 km from Rialto Rd. Park here. Cross the road and look for the cairn up in the meadow marking the trail. Follow the trail west for one and a half minutes through the meadow until you arrive at the crag.
Second option: Park as for Roadside & Cat Wall. Walk East on the road for two minutes until you locate the trail marked by a cairn on the North side of the road and follow this up the hill towards Roadside (left at the junction) OR on to Chips Crag (right at the junction) for another two minutes.
