Description
This area is home to only a few routes but is still worth the hike in at least once per season. The climbing is mostly on one main waterfall which forms quickly due to the fact that it is north facing and never gets sun. It is quite stout early season but once it is fully formed it is quite casual. The area has a nice mountain feel to it and is a fun place to spend the day at. The climb is on private land and has recently changed ownership so access could be an issue.
Getting There
Go to Sussex Corner and find route 111 southbound. Turn left onto the Dutch Valley/Waterford Road and follow that until you pass Poley Mountain Ski Hill. About a kilometer after Poley turn left on the Cedar Camp Road. Follow this road to an intersection. Turn right at the intersection (you are still on Cedar Camp Road). Immediately after turning right look up the hill in the horizon and you should be able to see the ice if it has formed or not. Continue driving down the road passing a house on your right and park about 300 meters from the house. The crux of the approach is crossing the creek shortly after leaving the car. There is usually a log bridge which will permit crossing. After crossing the creek continue south west until you can find the trail. Follow the trail up to the drainage to the waterfall. Hiking time is approximately 30 minutes.
