In Greek mythology, the Minotaur is a fabulous monster with the body of a man and the head of a bull, or half-man and half-bull. Born of the love affair between Pasiphae (wife of King Minos) and a white bull sent by Poseidon, he was imprisoned by Minos in the labyrinth.
