Description
This is a cluster of six granite spires sitting on a ridge west of FS Road 402C. They are visible from the road as you drive through a clearcut on approach. To date there are 26 routes on these spires. Most are bolted sport lines, including a two-pitcher on Raptor Pin, but also a few trad, mixed and toprope routes. The southern cluster of pins: Tillie, Tizzy, Patina, Minnie, Ponderosa, Raptor. Oly’s 2009 guide (download pdf from Gravity Sports of McCall website) covers three of these: Patina, Minnie, Ponderosa.
Getting There
There is a wide spot in the road 0.5 mile before reaching the big campsite near the end of FS Road 402C. This wide spot is often used for camping; you’ll see the fire ring. There’s a small informal trail, marked with cairns that heads gently downhill through the forest. The southern pins are all accessed from this trail.
