Description Suggest change

Another great granite dome zone in the sweetwater rocks, expect an easy (1 min.) hike to the wall after coming in with preferably a high-clearance vehicle, but I've seen Subaru outbacks make it here no problem. Check out the rad late 1800 / early 1900s log cabin at the base! Excellent low-angle to steeper slabbing in a mountain oasis in the high desert. Some classics you shouldn't miss are: Flake Route 5.7, Central Crack, Blue Moon among many of the others. Definitely bring the trad rack, as even some of the easier sport routes are put up in classic run out slab style. The 5.10 slab routes are hard, but bolted quite safely. Enjoy!

Getting There Suggest change

There are a few ways to access the Moonstone, google maps will take you via some private road access which is a bit more 4x4 and tight, better to drive to Agate Flat Rd (heading North) and drive 7.1 miles crossing over a bridge, at 7.1 miles take a sharp right (almost a U turn) before the cattle guard. This is a two track rd, follow this for 7.4 miles through 3 cattle gates, (Make sure you close them after you pass through) Stay on the obvious well trafficked rd.  Take the natural left after the third fence which runs on the opposite side of the moonstone, following the main road (stay to the right) and it will lead you to the STONE base.
