Description

Lake of the woods occupies parts of Ontario, Manitoba and the northern extents of Minnesota. The lake is littered with granite shores. Much of the lake is only accessible by boat. Boaters should be cautious and prepared with accurate maps as the lake is littered with rocks just below the surface. For those interested in visiting there are many resorts which cater to fishermen who would not oppose climbers. Much of this area is uncleaned and undeveloped.

Getting There

The lake of the woods can be accessed by resorts and docks littering the shoreline. Approaching from the north Kenora, ON is the largest town on the lake. From the east the lake can be accessed from Sioux Narrows Nestor Falls, ON and from the south just north of Morson, ON. A boat will be necessary to reach many areas throughout the lake.
