Description

The slab is on the back side of the Negropolis, between the Pet Cemetery and Snooze Rock. There are a handful of easy routes on the formation that generally get sun in the morning.

Getting There

Park on the west (Joshua Tree) end of the Negropolis. Walk up a wash around the left (west) end of the Negropolis hill, then turn east (right). Walk across the desert floor under the Pet Cemetery and roughly 50 yards further, will be a broken slab at ground level. After the slab, the desert floor rises, eventually gaining a high point from where you can see Snooze Rock a couple hundred yards to the east.

Total approach time from the road to the City of the Dead is roughly 5-10 minutes of flat walking.
