Description

This is the main cave that you pass by when making your way to Carr pond from the hopkins hill parking lot. The trail goes right by this area, you can't miss it.

Getting There

Follow the same directions as for the scurvy and treasure island boulders and you will run into this cave on your left right after the second stream crossing.

From the hopkins hill lot, head downhill and go straight through a 4 way trail intersection. After the intersection bear right as straight will take you to tarbox pond. Follow this trail up and down a couple small hills and come to the first stream crossing. At the top of the second hill there is an option to go left or straight - stay left. A hundred yards or so before the top of the second hill there is a path off to the left into the woods - you can also take this as it brings you to the same stream, just crosses at a different point. Cross the stream on the wooden beam and go up and over another hill which takes you to the second stream. Cross this stream and you will see the cave on your left.
