Description Suggest change

There is a lot of potential for new routes in this area in and around the valley of Sonamarg. The only guide we could find in the area was 1945 "A Climber's Guide to Sonamarg-Kashmir" which is more focused on alpine routes in the area.
This spot you can see from town looking NE. A full face to establish trad routes or bolt some great face climbs. Looked like the farther up you go there was even more, especially if you get all the way up the large formations by the ridge.
Local HAWS Mountain instructors were confident that no one they knew had climbed these crags, the HAWS school and private mountaineering schools in the area use established routes West of town near Sonamarg Bridge.

Getting There Suggest change

Northeast of town there is a hairpin turn by the bridge where we got dropped of. Hike up the creek about 10-15 minutes to the obvious face or go explore father north or to the East.
