Description
Frontiertown Crag wins the award for "Closest Crag to a Brewery in the Adirondacks." The steeper-than-they-look walls offer excellent hard sport climbing in warmer months and incredible mixed climbs in summer months. There is more potential for new routes here.
Getting There
In the winter, park at the Paradox Brewery parking lot (and maybe end your day at the Brewery to support them!) No overnighting in the Paradox Brewery lot. Walk up the road towards Keene Valley to the three-way intersection, cross the road and enter the woods at the three cables supporting a telephone pole (cairn in the summertime) through some small pines. Walk past an abandoned shack and continue straight (slightly left) down an abandoned service road until you can see a large, house-sized boulder, where you turn right and ascend to the cliff, at the summer route "Dark Side of the Loon" and the corner, "A Touch of Glass."
