Description
The Agora (/ˈæɡərə/; Ancient Greek: ἀγορά, romanized: agorá, meaning "market" in Modern Greek) was a central public space in ancient Greek city-states. It is the best representation of a city-state's response to accommodate the social and political order of the polis The literal meaning of the word "agora" is "gathering place" or "assembly". The agora was the center of the athletic, artistic, business, social, spiritual, and political life in the city.
Typical Lower Lemmon rock (solid, once you get thru all the hollow stuff). If you climb quiet enough, you might just get the same thrill of rapid gunfire like everyone else below Molino Vista, but not likely.
Okay, this crag has a little bit of everything. From low-angle face climbing, to steep and overhanging crack. Some choss, and some surprisingly good rock. Mostly sport but a little bit of trad. From low class 5 climbing up to 5.12 (probably).
Bring a stick clip, bring approach shoes, and enjoy!
Getting There
Heading up the Mt. Lemmon Scenic Byway, park on either side of the road at the pull outs just after mile marker 3.
Walk back down the road and cross the guardrail at the "No Parking" sign and follow cairns down a steep drainage for ~0.1 miles and 250ft of descent. Enter the crag from the North end of The Solarium. Continue past this wall on a short trail to reach the main wall.
The trail is relatively clean. You will most likely have a harder time getting there than your dog!
Expect the approach time to be 10-15 minutes.
