Description

Oil Well Flats is a large BLM area developed for mountain biking. There is dispersed camping and loads of bouldering terrain to explore. With lots of cacti and roaming cattle, it can make for a pretty ruff day for doggos (ba-dum-tsss).

Getting There

From Canon City: most areas require 4WD/clearance to access! Most can make it to Campsite #14 without. Drive toward the Shelf Road climbing area looking for signs and a turnoff on the right. It is well-established.
