Dakota Dam is a concentrated ravine of large boulders with easy roadside access. It’s got some old dam history.

Getting There Suggest change

Heading toward Shelf Road from Canon City: park at the single car pullout on the west side of the road below the large boulders. You’ll see a large pipeline and an old retaining wall spanning the hillside below. You can’t miss these Dam Boulders.
