Description
Beautiful small chasm with a number of short climbs all on the right wall. During a mild winter use caution when entering the swamp/flume if it is not fully frozen.
Getting There
From US-2 in Shelburne, head east on Meadow Road, over the Androscoggin River. Go 0.9 miles then turn left on North Road. The Austin Brook trailhead is 0.8 miles down North Road on the right (north) side of the road. There is space to park on the south side of the road.
Follow the Austin Brook trail to Gentian Swamp(@3.5 miles). Once you hit the swamp stay right and follow the drainage that fills the swamp(@4miles from North Rd trailhead).
If you can drive down Mill Brook Rd you can save @2.5 miles of hiking/skiing.
