Description

This lovely creekside crag lies at the bottom of upper Sabino Canyon, roughly halfway between Ireland and Echo. Hidden amongst the trees the main NE face goes into the shade around noon. Bring swim trunks on a hot summer day, there's usually some water to play around in.

Getting There

Same approach for Echo and Delta Dome. Park at Marshal's Gulch and take the SOUTH Aspen trailhead going uphill from the parking lot. Once you reach the wilderness boundary sign, head east on faint path to fire break at the ridge. Look for big stump with cairns and walk about 100 yards east to Echo. From Echo, bushwhack downhill continuing east towards Ireland to the rim of the canyon. Look for a bulge of rock at canyon rim with slot behind it leading down to the creek. Large rock formation on right side of the slot is the Shady Grove. Follow slot down and right alongside cliff to upper deck of the Shady Grove. Approximately 30 minutes, car to crag
