Description
The Swoosh area is another massive bouldering area located in northern Red Feather Lakes. Most of the development was done between 2001-2010, but there are still tons of boulder problems to be developed. This is a giant maze of forests, valleys, and aspen groves with massive granite boulders hiding in the most inobvious places. Some of the most famous problems here include: After Hours, V8; Devious Methods, V7; Gravity Rides Everything, V7; Fred's Roof, V4; Pure Briss, V8; The Product, V10; and its sit start Mastodon, V11; Big Bang, V12; Fathom, V1; and many many others.
Getting There
From Livermore, head west on the Red Feather Lakes Road (CR 74E) for about 23 miles. Turn north on the Prairie Divide Road (CR 67J), and drive past downtown Red Feather Lakes and Fox Acres Country Club. The road turns to dirt and continues meandering its way north. After approximately 9 miles, you will reach Kelly's Corner and the Creedmore Lakes Road (CR 180). Turn west here, and drive 1.5 miles to a gated road on your right. This is the Chicken Park Road (CR 181). It is open in the summer months, June-Nov. The rest of the year it is closed, and you have to walk in from the gate.
