Pinhook Boulders

Utah > Southeast Utah > San Juan County > La Sal Mountains
Warning Access Issue: RAIN, WET ROCK and RAPTOR CLOSURES: The sandstone around Moab is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Also please ask and be aware of Raptor Closures in areas. DetailsDrop down

Description

Bullet-hard igneous boulders, generally more featured than their counterparts in Dark Canyon. Generally very short. Good zone for when it's been raining and you're just itching to get out on aaaanything.

Getting There

Boulders are scattered around a big hill adjacent to the La Sal Loop Road. The best approach is via an assortment of forest roads (don't take your prius). Otherwise, park on the loop road and walk in.
