Description
The climbing area's near Dowdy Lake encompass a massive area stretching from the Red Feather Lakes Road (CR 74E) to the Prairie Divide Road (CR 67J) at the north end. Dowdy Domes, Easy Dowdy Areas, and Wildcat Canyon are all included in this area. Bouldering and trad climbing are the main styles with tons of potential hiding in the dense woods everywhere.
Getting There
From Livermore, drive west on the Red Feather Lakes Road (CR 74E) for approximately 22 miles to the Dowdy Lake Road. Turn north, and follow signs into the Dowdy Lake Day Use area.
Access note: Dowdy Lake is one of the most popular day use areas and campgrounds in all of Red Feather Lakes. Please follow all rules and regulations posted at the entrance kiosk sign.
