Description Suggest change

While the Rosengarten (Catinaccio group) to the North (deservedly) attracts most of the attention in the region, there are numerous smaller crags to the West, just up the hill from Tires and San Cipriano. We found this area generally less busy/crowded vs. the di Fassa region on the NE side of the Rosengarten.

Tires has a variety of accommodations, a nice bakery (with good coffee/breakfast), a couple of small grocery stores (including a Spar) and a small climbing shop (MountainShop Rosengarten). San Cipriano is smaller and has a tiny Spar and some hotel/limited restaurant options. The Tschamin Schwaige up the hill above the Weisslahnbad is highly recommended for traditional meals.

Getting There Suggest change

From Blumau/Prato all'Isarco head North out of town on the main street (Blumauer Str.). Make sure to stay on the left fork through the tunnel (direction Voels am Schlern/Tires) on LS/SP24/Voelser Str. After 1k or so make a sharp hairpin onto LS/SP65/Tierser Str. in the direction of St. Kathrein/Tires. This road is tight, windy, and frequently without a center line. Watch all blind spots and be prepared for trucks and other wide bodies coming down the hill at warp speed. Continue up the hill until you reach Tiers/Tires.
