Description Suggest change

Marble Canyon is a small hamlet on Hwy. 89A near the Colorado River and serves as welcome respite for many weary adventurers. Lee’s Ferry is the put in for Grand Canyon rivers runners Looking to go with the flow, as well as, motorboats and crew looking to make the journey upstream to Glen Canyon Dam. The Pariah River also empties into Lee’s Ferry which is a semi popular backpacking/canyoneering route which ceremoniously begins in the famed Buckskin Gulch.

Moving south from town, the Vermillion cliffs build to a regal height and complexity before evening out a bit at the south edge of the formation. While several lines are hidden In the folds, few have ventured onto them.

Marble Canyon has a number of fantastic side canyon day trips, overnighters, or long day loop routes. All hiking with sections of scrambling. it’s a fantastic way to enjoy the river if you can’t get on a trip.

There is little developed climbing in the region, and even less route documentation.
