Description Suggest change

If you're heading into the west section of the Hidden Valley (relative to the Cameron Falls trail), this is the second granite knob/outcropping/boulder jumble that you'll come across as you work your way down the Valley to test yourself in the Disproving Ground.

Like most of the areas, it's an eroded granite outcrop that faces into the old watercourse/centre of the valley and consists of a back wall and a series of boulders that have fall off the front of it, but the scale here is different from the others. Geographically, it's the longest and largest of the areas and has several distinct sub-areas that are more separated from each other than features within the other areas. The scale of it is also different. Nothing is large enough to merit roped climbing or fixed gear, but the key boulders and areas are very large.

I've generally been avoiding subdividing areas here so that you don't have 40 subareas for every boulder or face with two routes each, but the features here are large and far enough apart it would be hard to navigate without sub-areas, so I've done that here.

This area is also still under construction and I'll be putting up material over the next week.

Getting There Suggest change

This is basically the same approach as the Spire, but you go further into the woods. You can either walk down the wooden stairs and push through the brush past the Spire - if you do this, it'll be the second obvious talus/boulder field coming off of a granite knob that you'll see.

If you want to go here directly, instead of going down the stairs, you'll go left across the exposed rock area on the trail right before reaching the stairs. Instead of going down and right, you'll push straight through the trees until you come to the first exposed and climbable wall that goes uphill from the front face of the area.
