Description

This overhanging tongue-like feature at the base of Green Mountain Pinnacle sports a few amazing boulder problems.

Getting There

The Tongue is at the base of Death and Transfiguration (on the Green Mountain Pinnacle) along the approach to Pebble World (see Pebble World approach map).

Approach: using whatever starting point is most convenient, follow the Royal Arch Trail toward Sentinel Pass. About 3 minutes from Sentinel Pass, take an unmarked climber's trail (the Fourth Flatiron descent trail) on the right. Follow this trail up the hill until you get to The Hammerhead. Cut through a screefield above the Hammerhead, then continue following the reasonably well-worn climber’s trail until reaching Green Mountain Pinnacle. The Tongue is an intimidating overhanging feature along the trail.
