Description

This small, unassuming crag was one of the earlier zones developed at Point of Rocks. It sits on the edge of a seasonal swamp in a mature grove of birch trees, which provide dappled sunlight throughout the day. It boasts three routes, one of which can be climbed using either bolts or traditional protection. Mosquitoes can be a bit of a bother during June and July. You may regret not bringing bug spray. This is a nice place to visit as a warmup to other areas, many of which are nearby. All of the routes are easily top roped.

Getting There

Turn northeast off Hwy 93 onto an unmarked dirt road between mile marker 153 and 154, approximately 25.5 miles from Whitefish. It is easy to miss. Follow this road for a half mile to reach a gated spur road by taking a left at the T immediately after turning off the highway and a right at a fork in the road 0.4 miles in.

Park near the gate, walk around it and head up the road for 1.3 miles. Here the road turns into a singletrack. Follow it for another quarter mile as it winds through the forest and around a swamp. The small rock formation encountered on the southwestern edge of the swamp is your destination.
