Description
Above Grindelwald sit three famous peaks: The Eiger, Jungfrau, and The Mönch(The Monk).
The Mönch gains about 2100 feet from the Aletschgletscher(Aletsch Glacier).
The most popular route is the Southeast Ridge, which starts a few hundred meters from the Mönchsjochhutte.
Some seeking variety will also want to climb the South Ridge.

Getting There
Climbing routes on the Mönch will generally start from the Mönchsjochhutte (Just consider this the Mönch hut). You can get to the Mönch hut by 1. Climbing and then descending the Eiger or 2. taking the train to Jungfraujoch and then walking across the glacier to the hut.
You can also climb the South Ridge by starting directly by taking the train to Jungfraujoch and then crossing the glacier.
I've only climbed it by climbing the Eiger, and then arriving at the Monchsjochhutte, spending the night, and then alpine starting up the Southeast Ridge.
