Description

An interesting zone with an unspoiled quality to it. Fortunately, the rock quality is better than the name would suggest. Look for one of Prescott’s hardest crack problems and assorted other stout lines on these impressive, large rocks. A number of the harder looking lines have been done.

Getting There

An easy 10 to 15 minute mostly level hike along some unnamed trails will get you there. Park at the east end of a large lot about 200 yards up Thumb Butte Rd. from the Dearing Rd. intersection. Drop down to the creek, and follow a trail a short distance east and take a left turn onto another unnamed trail that heads south about 1/4 mile to the rocks. The trail passes east of the boulders. Another approach can be made by parking on Thumb Butte Rd. before the big switchbacks. Hike east over a hill and down to the rocks. (L/L 34.537804, -112.544674)
