Description
The rock is a coarse granite, with various features - flakes, slopers, lobes, scoops, edges, cracks, slabs. A diverse delight. Landings are generally good, just watch out for small cactuses and agave. Some boulders are truly gigantic.
A good all-year bouldering area, excepting snowy winter days. Moderately forested with alligator junipers and oaks, creating some shade. There is a five-dollar permit fee for the Boat Launch parking area. The lake can be crowded while the trail is secluded.
