Description
Daily Bread Wall is in a serene subalpine setting that was surprisingly mostly spared from the Cameron Peak fire. You can find pleasant weather all summer long, especially with afternoon shade and long summer days to enjoy it. Beautiful wildflowers line the meadow and the hill adjacent to the wall. This is the largest wall in the immediate area.
It might surprise you to see that most routes have lower off carabiners on the anchors. Please leave these alone for the use and safety of all climbers who visit these crags. Our hope is that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time at these mountain crags. Much love and effort was put into developing these routes with the hope that many would find respite from the heat of northern Colorado summers in this special place.
Approach
Follow the cairned trail, drop into the drainage, and the main wall becomes obvious on your right. You will be able to see the slab climb, Texas Toast, as you descend near the small gully.
From the road, aim for the first cairn up a short, steep hill. Start heading for the left side of the small talus field that is up on your right. Pick up the cairns again on the burnt hillside with downed trees. Walk in the center right side of that hillside somewhat trending up and right through switchbacks intentionally lined with branches and trees, passing through some places where trees have been cut. You will come to a place where you should be able to see a large cairn in between some large trees that were recently cut. Start ascending another hill (more large cairns). You will come to a small bog with many downed trees in it that will be dry. Hike through the obvious tree cuts on the right side of this, following more cairns. Hike through the forest and skirt the base of the small cliffs on your right until you come to the obvious drainage.
