Description Suggest change

Also known as “The Burnt Rocks” the Lone Valley Boulders are beautiful pink and orange granite boulders of bullet proof quality rock with high friction, which dot the hillside in the center of the Lone Valley area. And as the name implies, you’ll be sure to be the only ones out here, which is in the center of nowhere. If you do decide driving to the center of nowhere is your thing, you’ll be happy to find the boulders spread out, but clustered enough so that you can get to all of them on foot without having to drive to a new location. Your ass will be sure to rejoice after that long drive in .

Varying in size from fairly small to bigger than a house, these boulders offer something for everyone. From easy pebble wrestling, to colossal sphincter puckering “Yer Gunna Die” shit! And if pebble pushin ain’t your thing, no worries, grab some gear, a few draws, along with your favorite 40m gym rope and sample some of the sport, mixed and gear routes scattered throughout. As if lugging a man sized Sponge Bob wasn’t pain in the ass enough, now you have an excuse to tote around even more crap!

There are no trails, no toilets, no signs, rattlesnakes are a thing, so are bears and cougars, a true wilderness experience. Speaking of wilderness, the super convenient road that gets you to within pissing distance of some of the bigger boulders, requires something with more clearance than a Subaru. Like a real off-road vehicle. Sorry carbon conscious craggers, looks like true 4WD rules the day again. But not to worry, you get to be even more eco friendly by hoofing it up the last 1/8 mile to the base. It’s a win, win!

Many of the hardest problems have not been done. So if you’re still young and have gym tuned gorilla fingers, you’ll be stoked to find there are quite a few virgin problems around to stroke your ego with. Like probably everything over V8ish. Who am I kidding, there’s a ton of stuff that hasn’t been done. So come on out, and get yer gettin on!

Getting There Suggest change

You’re gonna have to do the googles, cuz it’s a long windy road no matter which way you come from.

The area is just northeast of Lone Rock, which is an obvious big hunk of stone which dominates the landscape. If you miss it, you’re way lost already. Look for a small grassy road leading strait to the biggest cluster of boulders. Park somewhere along there.
