Description

The Bluffs South provide awesome views of the Fulford Valley and the Gulf and San Juan Islands to the south and Vancouver Island to the west. Lots of fun climbing ranging from 5.6- 5.12a. The walls of Cankers and the Amphitheater have the best views and exposure on easy grade multi-pitch routes.

Getting There

Drive to the top of Mount Maxwell on Maxwell road to the upper Parking at the end of the road. From the parking lot, take the trail in the south-east corner. Follow trail #4 as it winds through second growth Douglas fir until you get to a large downed tree (about 7 minutes) once you step over the large log you'll see various trails leading off to the right towards the different bluffs. First bluff you'll encounter is the Baby Wall.

Alternately, you can drive up Seymour Road to the ned where you'll find a trail marker sign entering Mount Maxwell Park. Follow the trail to trail #4. There are maps at each of the big intersections to keep you on the right trail. You'll top out on a big rounded bluff. Keep going. Less then a minute later you'll see smaller trails leading off to the left to the various bluffs. From this direction you'll reach Asking For it first. About 15 minutes.
