Description
Along the Gorge Park trail system in Grand Falls - Windsor there are several lookouts overlooking the Exploits River. Under those lookouts are a variety of short climbs ranging from simple scrambles to more technical climbs. "Rose Clipin's", "Hip's Don't Lie" and "The Geoffrey" climbs have top rope bolts placed but as of this post, you'll need to bring your own gear to set up an anchor of your own on the rocks and trees above the "Blueberry" climb.
Getting There
There's an easy parking area beside the town Depot along Scott Ave. The trails lead all the way to a boat launch area where there's parking and a playground too.
The best climbs are in the "Canyon Gorge" next to the town depot. Fisherman use some fairly obvious trails down the slopes to get to the river. Using those same trails you end up under a series of rock stacks made from old volcanic basalt. You can scramble to the top of any number of them to set up your anchor points and explore the 40-50ft rock faces on all sides.
