Access Issue: Details

Much of the surrounding area is private property with public trail access, but GLR was donated to IRLC back in the early 2000's which gives it free reign in terms of public access to hunting, as well as climbing.

Description

A nice area with good potential for boulder and a couple small routes. There are several large, highball sized walls with nice bouldering potential. The cliff is more open than many of the lower lying areas, making its scenery somewhat similar to the first overlook. This also gives the cliff good sun exposure and keeps the rock surprisingly clean. There is definitely still some moss and chords to compete with, however.

Getting There

Take the main trail past the bowling alley, up the hill, and to sunbathing rock. Right before sunbathing rock, take a right into the woods, just as the trail takes a hard left up to sunbathing rock. Follow the hillside, trending rightward. At some point, after trending along the hillside, you should come up the “The Crypt”. Continue past the crypt, up and over several exposure grassy knolls. As you drop off the last major knoll, trend right around an increasing cliff. There, halfway up some talus and rubble field, you’ll find the cliff containing “Eaten Alive”
