Description
Tower Three is certainly the highest quality sector at Volantis and also the wall with the most amount of sport climbing. The central prow of Tower Three is the most outstanding feature of the area and offers a classic moderate multi-pitch. Left of this arete the climbing remains adventurous, but over right the wall turns into more of a sport crag, with routes arcing all the way up into the massive gully.
Getting There
It has the longest approach in the area, but it is still reasonable. From the tailings pile, hike right and up across the large bowl towards the central prow. Be very cautious about access early in the season, as the gully holds snow until August, and without proper footwear, it can turn into a terrifying friction slab of snow. Bring spikes or crampons, and this issue can be mitigated.
