Access Issue: Within proximity of permanent closure/protected areas Details
Please be advised: State Rangers know of the area and, due to the unwanted potential impact and concerns w.r.t hiking, crash pads, etc, have strongly encouraged very VERY small groups of people at any point going toward and beyond that direction. Small groups of no more than 2-3 people are advised. This will NOT change for the foreseeable future.
Access Issue: Remember to fill out a wilderness permit, even if climbing for the day! Details
Permits can be acquired at the ranger station on the way to the boulders from the upper Tramway station.
This boulder provides an excellent all-day circuit of easy to moderate problems, with enough trees that you could put up a hammock for the day. Slab receives shade most all day. The opposite side stays shaded only in the morning and has a large flake system that juts out from the base, providing a number of eliminate footholds.
