Honeycomb Rock (蜂巢岩场) Climbing

Honeycomb Rock is located in the foothills, not too far west of Shuhe town. Location indicated on map is approximate, i.e., not accurate and should be used with caution.

Shuhe 束河, a former village now suburb of Lijiang, lies about 5 km north, up valley of Lijiang Old Town (Dayan). Public transport is easy from Lijiang. Here’s a description from Chris Horton’s 2011 gokunming.com blog: “In recent years, the small town of Shuhe has become a popular alternative for travelers who want a little less Lijiang with their Lijiang. Despite also being part of the same UNESCO World Heritage Site as Dayan, it is a smaller, quieter town that has retained less of its old architecture but has much better access to nature, including Jubao Mountain (聚宝山), which is perched on the town's western side, and the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, just a few kilometers to the north.”

Apparently, the crag has easy access from a road, “a five minute walk”, but not clear if there is public transport or need to take a taxi. Check with local climbers in Lijiang for the latest access information.
