Temporary Closure for Nesting Raptors

Due to the presence of nesting raptors, the following rock climbing areas are temporarily closed: Slatanic Area, Rattlesnake Buttress, Margaret Thatcher Spire, The Stepping Stones, The Bulkhead, The Dunce Cap, and Commissioner’s Buttress.

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

This obscure spot is close to the road with an expansive view and offers half a dozen routes from 5.6 to 5.10a on the unique rock of the area.

Getting There

Located just down and left from The Stadium and easily approached from the base of Stubble Face by heading up and left then dropping down into a rocky gully with the wall.
