Description
The new parking lot makes Y Crag, previously an out-of-the-way novelty, a destination crag, and lessens the approach from 45 minutes to 10 minutes. The crag is complex and many-faceted, which allows for different styles of route difficulties and lengths. From soaring moderates to harder testpieces, Y-Crag has it all, from 5.4 to 5.12+. There are even a few trad lines thrown in for good measure (or not). There's surely something for everyone at Y!
Getting There
We have a parking lot! Pass the seasonally-closed gate and pull into our new lot on the left, about .75mi up the road. From the lot, cross the small footbridge, take a right, and then a quick left and hike up the hill for 2 minutes to Storybrooke. Once there, take a right and follow a steep trail up the hill above Storybrooke to Y-Crag marked by trees with blue ribbons. The trail can get quite steep and winding - it takes about 10-15 minutes to get there from the lot.
