Most of the 14-acre property at Hanging Mountain has been designated as Priority Habitat by MassWildlife’s Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program (NHESP). As a result, Hanging Mountain and any work performed there is heavily regulated to ensure that the WMCC is in compliance with the Massachusetts Endangered Species Act and Wetlands Protection Act.

Description
The Acorn Face is a quaint cliff with good stone. Be sure to try the techy and thoughtful Radiant Sky. Get up on top of this cliff from any of the routes on the left and find the Squirrel Wall in all its glory.
SEASONAL ACCESS NOTICE: All climbs on the Squirrel Wall (above Acorn Face) are closed for falcon nesting from mid-February to the end of June.
Getting There
From parking lot, follow main trail to the Y and bear left following the sign toward "Cloud Buttress". The Cloud Buttress will be the first cliff you come to. Continue up the stairs to the right and the Acorn Buttress will be just nextdoor on the left.
