Description
Moderate sport and trad climbing on quality rock with amazing views of the lake. This area was originally developed in the early 2000s. Blaze Wall and Cheddar Wall were cleaned and retro-bolted as part of the TAWKROC Adopt-a-Crag initiative in Fall 2021 and Spring 2022. It's easy to access the top of these walls to set up top ropes by walking up the ramp between Blaze and Cheddar walls to access the top of the crags.
Getting There
When driving North on Highway 6 (from Nelson or Castlegar), drive past the turnoff for Slocan. After 2km you'll see a pullout on the left (lakeside) and an avalanche gate. Park here. Find the large trailhead at the North end of the parking area and take the first left turn on the trail. This will take you to Blaze Wall, continue along the trail for another 3 minutes to reach Cheddar Wall.
